The moment I entered the El Silencio Lodge & Spa, I was struck by its charming decor and the warmth of its ambiance. The natural elements incorporated in the hotel's design, such as the locally sourced sustainable woods and floor-to-ceiling glass doors, create a soothing and inviting atmosphere. As a senior woman, I greatly appreciated the accessibility of the hotel's general areas. The staff was always ready to assist me and ensure my comfort throughout my stay.

While the children working at the hotel were kind and helpful, I would have loved to see more amenities and activities specifically tailored for senior guests.

El Silencio Lodge & Spa Costa Rica is a truly magical place nestled in the mountains. Guests rave about the insane views of the lush forest from the spacious rooms, which also offer a patio to enjoy the scenery. The staff goes above and beyond, delivering fresh juice to your room in the mornings and treating you to homemade chocolates and hot water bottles in the evenings. The farm-to-table food is delicious, with standout dishes like the trout tartare. The spa is absolutely incredible, with a hanging bridge and unique vertical room. Guests also love the on-site activities, such as horseback riding and nature treks to stunning waterfalls. The small size of the hotel ensures personalized and welcoming service.

The only downside mentioned by guests is that they didn't want to leave and wished they could stay longer.

Beautiful surroundings and stunning views. The location was amazing, nestled in the midst of nature with a forest view jacuzzi. The drive to the hotel might be challenging, but it's definitely worth the adventure.

The weather can be unpredictable. It's a cloud forest, so be prepared for rain.

The spa's open-air treatment rooms were amazing, with heated beds that lulled me to sleep with the sound of leaves rustling, flowing water, and the soothing forest scent. The farm-to-table dining was a tasty journey into Costa Rica's culinary heritage. The Private Two-Bedroom Villas were perfect for a family getaway.

Scratches on the rental car were a delightful surprise.

The villas were beautiful, with a jacuzzi that was ready to go upon arrival. The food was delicious, especially the farm-to-table options. We enjoyed hiking to the nearby waterfall and the stunning views from our room. a fantastic place to stay!

We recently visited El Silencio Lodge & Spa for our honeymoon and it was the perfect way to end our trip. The hotel's inclusion in Relais & Chateaux was a pleasant surprise. The individual villas offered privacy and comfort, complete with a hot tub next to the bathroom. The service was outstanding, with professional and friendly staff who went out of their way to accommodate us. The food was delicious, combining Costa Rican and French cuisine. We highly recommend the gardens and shopping tour in Sarchi, easily accessible with the hotel's shuttle. an amazing experience that exceeded our expectations.

I absolutely loved the cozy and inviting decoration of the hotel. The use of warm colors, comfortable furniture, and beautiful artwork made me feel right at home. The general areas were spacious and well-maintained, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the stunning views. As a senior woman, I really appreciated the hotel's accessibility. There were ramps and handrails throughout the property, making it easy for me to get around and enjoy all the amenities.

One small suggestion I have for a better vacation for senior people is that the children working there could be a bit more attentive to the needs of older guests. the staff was incredibly kind and friendly, but I found that sometimes they were not proactive in offering assistance or anticipating our needs.

We had a fantastic time at El Silencio Lodge & Spa! The food was excellent, and the chef was very accommodating for my food allergy. The staff were all upbeat, polite, and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. Muchas Gracias! The location was also stunning, with beautiful surroundings and the sound of the flowing river. We loved waking up to the sound of birds chirping. The restaurant offered a great selection of breakfast options, and dinner was delicious too. We took part in the horse riding experience and it was incredible. I highly recommend it! The yoga in the middle of the forest was also a magical experience. We loved exploring the trails, which led us to waterfalls and a friendly coati. We only stayed for 3 nights, but it wasn't enough. El Silencio is the perfect place to disconnect from the world and leave everyday problems behind. The villas were incredibly well-designed and one of the best hotel rooms we've ever stayed in. From the rocking chairs on the terrace to the private jacuzzi, we were in heaven. The hotel also had hiking trails with three waterfalls on site, and a beautiful garden where we saw lots of hummingbirds. Another highlight was the free hot chocolate and cookie by the fire during the afternoon cloud forest showers. All of the staff were super friendly, but Daniel in particular was really helpful in answering our questions. Plus, the bed was super comfy and we loved the wraparound views from our private lodge. the food, accommodations, and experiences at El Silencio Lodge & Spa exceeded our expectations.
